When we obeyed the gospel, we were born into a family—our church family (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 3:14-21, Acts 2:37-47).  God gave us the great commission to preach the gospel to all nations. (Matthew 28:16-20)  To accomplish His will in reaching the world we need each other in united prayer and prayer warfare. (James 5:16 .)
Every New Testament local church was exhorted to pray without ceasing.

Consider:

*The church at Ephesus was exhorted to pray always     (Ephesians 6:18).

*The church at Thessalonica was told to “Pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17).

*The church at Rome was admonished to “be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12).

*The church at Colosse was exhorted to “continue in prayer with thanksgiving steadfastly” (Colossians 4:2).

*The church at Philippi was encouraged to not worry about anything . . .  but in everything by prayer and supplication let your requests be made know to God (Philippians 4:6).

*The Hebrews were urged to “continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God” (Hebrews 13:15).

Around A.D. 400, Chrysotom wrote, “What we cannot obtain by solitary prayer . . . we may by cooperative prayer.”

DAILY Putting on God’s Armor:

Heavenly Father, Your Warrior prepares for Battle.
Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on the whole armor of God!

Lord, I give you my will; submit today to your will; I give you my body, mind and soul.  Oh Lord you are in control of me today.  I give up myself; my selfishness to you oh God in heaven.  I pray for protection around my mind; may I take every thought captive for Christ.  Christ does not give me a spirit of fear but a spirit of peace and a sound mind that I am thinking clearly about my walk with You – Oh God YOU are my shelter and provider… YOU are my friend in a dark world - --YOU shed the light of peace upon me…no matter what I go through today, You and I together can face it because you live in me.  The very Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me and because of that I know where my strength comes from.  Thank you Jesus!

I put on the breastplate of righteousness!  May it guard my heart from evil so I will remain pure and Holy, protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.

Thank You, Christ Jesus for what you did for me on the cross; taking my sins; sufferings and diseases to the cross.  May I be a welcoming environment for Your leading in my life today. Thank you for the victory you’ve provided over Satan.

By Faith I put on the girdle of Truth; may my life today be motivated by truth; my heart love truth.  May I be motivated by what is righteous (right) and refuse that which is evil.  Thank you for the imputed righteousness of Christ. May I stand firm in the truth of your word so I will not become a victim of Satan’s lies.

By Faith I put on the shoes of peace. May I stand firm in the Good News of the Gospel so Your peace will shine through me and be a light to all I encounter.  Today may I be a peace maker not a trouble maker.

By Faith I take up the shield of Faith; may I trust your word today and not add any fuel to Satan’s darts.  Thank you that I can go into this day without fear. Make me ready for Satan’s fiery darts of doubt, denial and deceit so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

By Faith I put on the Helmet of Salvation; may I have my mind focused on You so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts; may I remember today that Jesus is coming again; help me to live in the future tense.

By Faith I take up the Sword of the Spirit!  May the two-edged sword of Your Word be ready in my hands so I can expose the tempting words of Satan.  Protect my mind from discouragement and despair.  Fill my mind with your swords (Rhema –personal word from God through His Word and the Holy Spirit through prayer).

By Faith I have put on the armor of God today; may this be a day of victory!

In Jesus Name AMEN

Above prayer written from:  Ephesians 6:10-23(ESV)

The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and,as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
19 and pray also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Final Greetings

21 So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything. 22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts.23 Peace be to the brothers,[a] and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6(ESV)

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.

FIVE REASONS COUPLES FIGHT...

NOTES that I took as I watched Jimmy and Karen Evans Marriage-Today videos:

Five reasons couples fight:
  • Work stress
  •  Money
  •  Children
  •  Sex
  •  Housework
  •  But real reason for fighting…EXAMPLE:  Karen said:  you don’t care about how I feel – you are not valuing how I feel, for example when Karen would drive; Karen was stressed over poor driving because Jimmy thought he was the gifted driver. He was correcting her every move.  But when Jimmy drove, Karen would hold on to the dash, etc – she was stressed – but Jimmy said "I didn't care how Karen felt"
TWO DIFFERENT PROBLEMS:
  • Women need “security” – that you care about her – she has to know that she is more important than anything else – are you going to be a faithful provider? A faithful husband
  • Men need “honor” and respect:  Am I a good man and do you “believe” in me – or do you think I’m a louse?

Carolyn Jo prays for her marriage...you can use this to pray for yours...

Holy Lord,
Thank you for your unconditional for me.  I am so undeserving, yet you pursue me daily!  Thank you for your grace and for your perfect provision.

I am so blessed and grateful for my life and for my husband’s life.   Thank You for trusting us with each other’s hearts, blessing us with the covenant of marriage. You have given us an opportunity to love each other unconditionally and sometimes that is hard to do, but I ask Lord that you would help us to love like you love.

Please show me how to be a joyful wife, a compassionate wife, a humble wife, and a truly forgiving wife. I pray for wisdom. I pray that you would equip both my husband and I with whatever we are lacking so that we may bless each other and be a beautiful example of how Christ loves the Church.

Help me to understand that my expectations for my husband may never be met, that he is human and capable of sin.  Give me a discerning spirit and the courage to speak truth into my husband’s life, which will encourage him.  Keep words of disappointment and regret, lies from the enemy, far from me. Lord, if { insert husband’s name } is struggling with anything, specifically { insert a struggle } please remove it from him.

Heal my husband and give him a strong desire to seek after you.  I pray that he is the spiritual leader of our family that you have called him to be.  May your characteristics manifest in him as he grows in his relationship with you.

God, I ask that you would protect our marriage, keeping Satan and his ways far from our family.  Holy Spirit walk with my husband today, call out his name and reveal yourself to him.  I pray that our love for each other continues to grow deeper and deeper everyday.

Please grant us time to spend intimately with one another, and especially time and desire to pray with and over one another! I pray for restoration in our marriage!  May you be at the center of our marriage FOREVER and EVER!  Reigning in our hearts, motivating our love and guiding our actions! In Jesus Name AMEN!

A cord of 3 Strands is not easily broken.

It seems that in the lives of Christians that marry, Satan targets them to destroy that home. So here is something I use to help me pray for my marriage and for family and friends...hope it encourages you to pray for your marriage and/or friends; family.

The song "Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus" is in my heart!  What a great thought nothing can stand in our way, no battle scars ...
